My most fulfilling and accomplished work in design has been in building posters for theatrical productions. The task is clear and the challenge is great: convey to the audience in a single image the totality of the production. Is it funny or serious, brainy or broad, political or personal, mysterious or direct, for adults or for families. And then of course there is the where, when and how much – the typography of which goes into telling the story as well. Below are some of my favorites. All photography by me.
